Soooo......I've been hammering away like a Groobee (and of you don't know what that is, better brush up on your Gumby). After replacing the walkway under the stairs (thanks Dad), Grandpa and I rebuilt the "bridge" between the back steps and the garage (the one he originally constructed after Grandma's fall). We make a pretty good team. Gramps gives the directions, finds all the old and sometimes obscure tools, and works the table saw. My job is a multi-step process. First, I have to figure out what it is that Grandpa wants me to do. This is sometimes followed by a discussion of my thoughts on the plan. Then it's on to sawing, hammering, or going on a tool hunt, which resulted in a field trip to Grandpa's favorite store, Ace Hardware (to get a caulk gun, which we already had one, which auntie Flo found later...I guess you can never have too many caulk guns, right? Anyway, Gramps was pretty excited to go to Ace, had his envelope with his member card ...
